The reason for the fund.
It appears we have a lot of people appearing outside our little knitting circle to add to the fund. Thank you all SO MUCH! I understand that Neil Gaiman RT'd a link here.
Patience is a very dear friend of ours who just suddenly lost her husband to an apparent heart attack. She is in a different country than her country of origin and without family, income or transportation. Her husband, Owen, was her world in all ways. This fund is to help bring her family to her and whatever is leftover is to provide her with food, shelter, etc. until she can get back on her feet. For those of you on Ravelry, we are also knitting her a blanket (also crochet). For full details go here. Thank you all
This was very sudden and we're all scrambling to find out what we can do for Patience. Right now we're just collecting money and working on a blanket.
The money will go to help get Patience's mom to her and then anything over will go to helping her as she has no income.     |
